The term "rare breed" refers to heritage farm animals that are no longer grown commercially and are in danger of becoming extinct. While it may seem hypocritical to eat an endangered farm animal, you are in fact creating a demand and ensuring the breeds survival.
Greenacres Heritage Farm is aiming to help save the genetic diversity of rare breed farm animals by showcasing them at our farm.
In preserving our heritage rare breeds we are helping to protect a genetic base of animals which. in turn increases the ability to respond to changing enviromental conditions.
In a world of global food production, large scale commercial farming with fewer breeds and advance technology.
This is a return to the domestic farmyard of the past. But it is one that will be available to the public.
Greenacres Heritage Farm is located on the Motbey Ferguson Rd in Wandellow via Cobargo NSW.
